Présidé par Alain DUPLAT, il est composé des Présidents nationaux de chacune des Confédérations adhérentes et de 5 représentants des CGAD départementales et régionales. Il est organisé autour de deux sections : une section artisanale et une section commerciale.
Les Présidents des organisations nationales regroupant les activités susceptibles d’être inscrites au Répertoire des Métiers forment la section artisanale de la CGAD.
Les Présidents des organisations nationales regroupant les activités inscrites exclusivement au Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés forment la section commerciale de la CGAD.
Six représentants des CGAD régionales assistent au Conseil d'Administration à raison d'un représentant pour chacun des secteurs géographiques suivants :
1er secteur : Île-de-France.
2ème secteur : Basse-Normandie, Centre, Bretagne, Haute-Normandie, Pays-de-la-Loire.
3ème secteur : Picardie, Champagne-Ardenne, Alsace, Bourgogne, Franche-Comté, Lorraine, Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
4ème secteur : Rhône-Alpes, Auvergne, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Languedoc-Roussillon, Corse.
5ème secteur : Midi-Pyrénées, Poitou-Charente, Limousin, Aquitaine.
6ème secteur : DOM-TOM.
